This position is responsible for operating various power-driven machinery used to move dirt or other materials. May operate all or some of the following types of equipment: excavator, backhoe, bulldozer, dragline, front-end loader, motor grader, dump truck, etc. Non-exempt role; Reports to the Foreman; Assigned duties according to specific procedures / work is checked frequently. Essential Qualifications:High school or equivalentCommercial Driver's License (CDL) may be requiredMay require NCCCO or NCCER certificationsGeneral knowledge of civil construction and excavationGeneral knowledge of maintaining level grade at defined elevationsPost offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the company Drug, Alcohol and Contraband PolicyComply with company and client job site safety requirementsMust not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplaceFunctional Requirements:Moves hand and foot levers to control diesel, electric and gasoline equipment; interprets hand signals to determine where materials are to be placed; reads and interprets load charts; may assemble or disassemble equipment or material on maintenance or construction sites; may be required to manipulate equipment on un-level working surfaces; may perform maintenance duties such as cleaning, greasing and oiling machines/equipment; perform additional assignments per supervisor's directionCompensationFinal agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.
