Job Summary:

The MRI Technologist (Overnight) is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures during overnight shifts, ensuring patient safety and comfort while operating MRI equipment efficiently. This role requires collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams to provide accurate diagnostic imaging in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment. The technologist must maintain a clean and safe scanning environment and adhere to all regulatory and facility standards.

Responsibilities:

• Operate MRI machines efficiently, specifically GE MRI scanners.
• Prepare and explain MRI procedures to patients, ensuring their understanding and comfort.
• Insert IVs as necessary for contrast administration.
• Provide patient care during scans, monitoring patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate with physicians to facilitate timely diagnostic imaging and results delivery.
• Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately in medical records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized scanning environment.
• Perform additional patient care tasks as needed during the shift.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Associate degree in Magnetic Resonance Imaging or Radiology.
• ARRT certification in MRI or willingness to obtain.
• New York State Radiologic Technologist license or willingness to obtain.
• Injection certification.
• American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Minimum of two years of MRI technologist experience.
• Experience operating GE MRI scanners.
• Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during procedures.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience using EPIC electronic medical record system.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to imaging and patient care.

Special Considerations:

• Overnight shift work from Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 pm to 6:30 am.
• Includes working holidays, on-call duties, and callback as required.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced Level 1 Trauma Center environment.

Scheduling:

• 13-week assignment with fixed overnight shifts Sunday to Thursday.
• Shift hours are from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am.
• On-call and callback responsibilities included as needed.
