Eaton's Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Lead Engineer Embedded Software. This position offers a HYBRID work schedule and candidates must currently reside today within a 50-mile radius of the following Eaton location: Cleveland OHIO (Beachwood HQ). This position also offers Company Sposnsorship (H1B Visa).

The expected annual salary range for this role is $85500.0 - $125400.0 a year.

What you'll do:

As a Lead Engineer, Embedded Software you will have the opportunity to join our team in the intelligent power domain. The ideal candidate will design, develop, test and deploy machine learning components on Eaton's Edge Platforms such as Embedded Linux and FreeRTOS. In this role:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy machine learning components in edge devices to provide analytics for energy management.
• Take responsibility for technical deliverables and project delivery throughout the project life cycle.
• Analyze product requirements and translate to technical requirements to specify solutions.
• Work directly with stakeholders, engineering, and test as part of an Agile Release Train to deliver high quality solutions that solve end-user problems.
• Provide technical leadership to help plan releases, Scrum backlogs and sprints.
• Support software QA and drive improving quality metrics.
• Mentor colleagues in the use of tools and in best practices in SW development
• Explore and recommend new tools and processes which can improve efficiency and compliance.
• Opportunity for the candidate to work on other areas such as DevSecOps, Data Engineering and Machine Learning. Prior experience in these areas is not required but is a bonus

Qualifications:

Required Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the software industry as a developer, with a proven track record of shipping high quality products
• Solid programming experience in C or C++ on embedded platforms, e.g. Linux, RTOS
• Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems
• Experience with memory management, HW peripherals, communication protocols, schematics
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. All Candidates must CURRENTLY reside within a 50-mile radius of Eaton's Beachwood, OH Headquarters will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Any experience with Machine Learning or Data Analytics
• Worked with IoT technologies and protocols (AWS IoT, MS Azure IoT)
• CI/CD or automation experience
• Worked with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GSM integrations on Embedded platforms
• Python and scripting languages
• Knowledge of cloud development platforms such as Azure or AWS and their associated technology capabilities

• Abreast of upcoming software development/engineering tools, trends, and methodologies including Agile / Scrum
