Your Responsibilities

As an Embedded Software Engineer for John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG) l ocated in Urbandale, IA, or Silvis, IL , with flexibility to consider other Deere locations, subject to manager approval. you will ….

• Be a member of an embedded development scrum team working with multiple stakeholders to build and implement functionality for John Deere agricultural equipment such as In-Field Data Sharing and Logistics.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineers, Software Architects, and other teams in the John Deere Tech Stack to design, develop, and test software for a broad spectrum of Deere equipment with a focus on Precision Ag.
• Operate as a member in a scrum team environment on varying projects with and provide work direction for team members.
• Provide product support and defect triage of those system(s).

What Skills You Need

• 1 year of demonstrated experience in embedded software development using C++, Python, Java, or other Object-Oriented languages.
• Knowledge of CAN & Ethernet protocols and tools.
• Experience in design, development, and testing software applications.
• Understand real-time operating systems and multi process/thread concepts.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a distributed team environment.

What Makes You Stand Out

• Knowledge of IoT Messaging
• Demonstrated understanding of Object-Oriented Principles.
• Demonstrated understanding of inter process communication and multi-threading.
• Experience working with Ops Center via Embedded Gen4/5 Interfaces.
