Role: Cath Lab Technician
Location: Hickory, NC-28601
Position: Full Time + Benefits

Must Have:

~Current ARRT or RCIS certification required.
~Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
~Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Nice to Have:

Hospital experience in Acute or Rehab setting.

Duties:

1. Patient Preparation & Care

• Prepare patients for procedures like angiograms, angioplasty, and stent placement.
• Explain procedures and help reduce patient anxiety.
• Monitor vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels).
• Ensure proper patient positioning and sterile field maintenance

⚙️ 2. Assisting During Procedures

• Assist cardiologists during cardiac catheterization procedures.
• Hand instruments and catheters to the physician
• Operate imaging equipment (fluoroscopy/X-ray systems)
• Monitor patient condition throughout the procedure

3. Equipment & Technical Duties

• Set up and calibrate cath lab equipment.
• Ensure all devices (monitors, contrast injectors, imaging systems) are functioning properly.
• Maintain sterile instruments and supplies.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues during procedures.

4. Monitoring & Documentation

• Record procedure details and patient data
• Monitor ECG (heart rhythm) and report abnormalities
• Maintain accurate patient records and procedure logs.

5. Post-Procedure Care

• Assist in patient recovery and monitoring
• Apply pressure to catheter insertion site to prevent bleeding.
• Educate patients on post-procedure care instructions.

• Follow radiation safety protocols.
• Maintain infection control standards.
• Adhere to hospital policies and healthcare regulations.
